Used it the other day, (5D) Can be a bit fiddly but with the right DoP & Lenses its great, definitely worth playing with! Has a distinctive look in my opinion

It is the way of the future, but was not meant that way. Therefore, Canon is still catching up to the tidal wave of videographers who bought their "photojournalist" -targeted product. Yes, 5DmkII is the first truly empowering camera for independent artists to make cinema quality video, but takes some adjustment for video traditionalists to get comfortable with. It's all in the DOF!! 7D is not as sweet, but adds some more candy features.

7D: The camera is decent and takes beautiful rich shots and video, but it has its limitations. It only records for 12mins a pop. Its also not great for recording audio.

What Marcel said. I own one - for the EPK and fiction world, they're fantastic. Run and gun and event recording, not so much. Like any tool, it has specific applications.

I was working with it a few months ago, and the look of the images is amazing with the proper lenses, but as somebody said, for me the audio is a problem, you need an external recording system, wich is a little pain in the ass for editing...
