Hector Fernando studied film in Paris and did further studies in Germany before he moved to Helsinki, Finland where he stayed and developed as a film director for 15 years.
Hector kicked-off his career as a Director of Photography but soon started directing music videos. He directed over 30 music videos for different Scandinavian bands and also for Vaya Con Dios "James T. Slater" in Switzerland.
He then made his directional debut in San Francisco, Las Vegas and NYC with a commercial for Leaf. Since then he has been directing all over the world, including Australia, Japan, USA, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, The Caribbean, France, The Middle East, Italy, Egypt, Turkey, Germany, Finland, Estonia, India, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Canada. Hector has a diverse directing style with great storytelling as his strongpoint. He has started endeavouring in visual projects lately and he likes to make small movies to sell products.

Recently he was awarded with several Gold’s and Silvers, Cannes short lists, including the Grand Prix of the Best of Scandinavian Advertising and the Grand Prix at the Cristal awards in France with the film Statoil “Olaf” and Statoil “Bird”.
Nowadays he is based between London and NYC, but home is always where the next shoot is…Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro or Sydney…
